The 10 Most Important Cryptocurrencies Other Than Bitcoin

Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet

A community dedicated to Bitcoin, the currency of the Internet. Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. You might be interested in Bitcoin if you like cryptography, distributed peer-to-peer systems, or economics. A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.

Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever. While bitcoin tokens on the original network can't be copied or counterfeited, the protocol is open source and can be recreated with different parameters. We call these Airdrops.

Any word on when CoinMarkets might start releasing other coins? (like Bitcoin)

So almost two months ago I had sent .50 BTC over to Coinsmarkets to trade for ECA, but unfortunately after I had sent the BTC over from Binance to CM, is when CM crashed. I was happy to hear that they are allowing Electra withdrawals, but has there been any word on when we may be able to trade for Electra, or withdraw our BTC? Thanks

ELI5:Why do altcoins like dogecoin have little real value, while other coins like Bitcoin do?

1k dogecoin right now is around 38 cents, while bitcoin is hovering at around 650 bucks. What makes certain coins have more value than others?

Bitcoin only rises to stop the rise of other coins like Ethereum

The whole point of the Tether infusion is for the central bankers to control all coins by pumping up Bitcoin when other coins pump so people wait to see what bitcoin will do. Bitcoin is their controlled opposition.
When Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash or any coin in the top ten start pumping enough, they start buying bitcoin with Tether to control that. They will not let another coin easily take the number one spot.
You can make a lot of money knowing this.

The Censorship grows! The Monero community got me permanently banned from r/linux for calling out their vote brigading!!

First of all, what does this have to do with ETH?
Censorship-resistance is very important to cryptocurrencies and our markets. Censorship-resistance is the entire Raison d'etre of cryptocurrencies. Without this resistance, we can't find or finance things freely. We can't transact in the market freely.
We cannot accurately price our coins. any future ETH privacy features won't mean anything if you can be censored into not using them via social pressure. That's what the monero community is attempting to do here; they are trying to silence those communities who they disagree with. Which means they'll be gunning for any direct competition that doesn't 'toe the line'. That's YOU BCH!
I'm sure you're aware that Monero has spent an inordinate amount of time lying about other privacy coin's supposed flaws and misrepresenting facts about their own flaws, as well as about ETH. Fluffypony is notorious for his completely irrational hatred of Et.h Indeed, as I pointed out in this thread, the monero community routinely lies about other coins like Bitcoin Cash While they flood this sub with their shilling and tipbot, the Monero community ROUTINELY LIES about Bitcoin Cash to newbies!
I've even seen them argue that Monero is cryptographically stronger than ZEC even though they know that's false, for example. So if they can get into a position of just banning people who say things they don't like like they did to me here, then your community will also be on their target list.
The monero community is trying to establish a censorship regime which will eventually cover all cryptocurrencies and communities! They wish to 'thought-police' away information like they did here so they can control the narrative and prevent others from finding out about their bad, toxic behavior! This is very bad for all of us because it means our price reviews will be tainted by the scourge of censorship. If we wish to trade and invest in cryptocurrencies freely and without coercion, we cannot allow this!
The Monero community continues their aggressive tactics of getting any information they don't like censored and removed. This comment in linux was heavily upvoted and has been removed by thoughtpolice at the behest of the Monero community.
Edit 2: Unfortunately the moderators of linux have decided to side with the monero community and permaban me from this sub for exposing Monero's vote brigading and harassment across reddit. You can tell this is the case because they left flenst's reply up and deleted my replies to him.
Even though I didn't bring cryptocurrency into this discussion until I was vote brigaded (Which is against reddit's rules so the mods should be on my side here). This is the extent to which the Monero community will manipulate public discourse.
Edit: Unfortunately, it appears this comment and my other comments in this thread are being vote-brigaded down. This is presumably the work of the very aggressive and toxic monero community, members of which have admitted to following/stalking my posts across reddit before. One of which replies below and attempts to lie about our history while continuing to censor my content. This action is to make my posts appear less popular than they are and is a form of manipulation.
I've had my System76 box for a couple years and I must say, this laptop still runs like new! It still takes the exact same couple seconds to boot, CPU usage remains low despite a consistently heavy task load, and the machine is as responsive and performant as the day I bought it. Pop!_os is great, unlike Ubuntu, I can't really say there's any quirks or annoyances. Honestly, switching to Linux was the second best decision of my computing life. The first was getting a System76 computer.
The user flenst, who is an aggressive shill for Monero that admitted to following me around and stalking my comments on reddit replied (and the moderators of course left his reply up while deleting my replies to him):

I will report your anti Monero stuff (something you could call "toxic and aggressive") as targeted harassment.
Accusing, without any evidence, some other communities in comments that were received well, in an edit afterwards, is abusive and, as you call it, manipulative.
The only reason this user knew about this comment was because he stalks me on reddit. I didn't mention anything about cryptocurrency or Monero until the monero community started vote brigading my comment! It was originally at 20 upvotes and they started walking it down to 6-7. So I posted a note about it and called them out. It then jumped back up to 20 and Flenst felt he needed to respond. So I responded to him with evidence:
https://www.reddit.com/linux/comments/dg1yio/system76_will_begin_shipping_2_linux_laptops_with/f3avdtp/
The post itself is rather long so I'll post it below, but the fact remains the monero community has successful abused the rules of a subreddit to remove popular content that they don't like. This is censorship and should not be allowed to stand!

Is Mimblewimble or other such privacy technology a threat for Monero?

MimbleWimble is a technology to increase privacy of crypto transactions. Beam and grin are coins which are using this MimbleWimble technology. So they claim to to be privacy coins. Beam and Grin are supposed to be able to be atomic swapped with other coins, like Bitcoin to increase Bitcoin privacy. MimbleWimble can be implemented also to Bitcoin itself.
I downloaded Beam wallet. It worked just fine.https://www.beam.mw/
Grin wallet was strange. Even it is running just in testnet at the moment, the wallet is so strange I don't understand it.https://grin-tech.org/
Is MimbleWimble or other such privacy technology a threat for Monero? Of course, MimbleWimble can be implemented to Monero also, if necessary.
Anyway, people are quite hypocritical. They blame Monero to be tool for criminals because of its high privacy features. Next they say that their favorite coin will be more private in future.
